Pediatric Dentistry Clinic – Parnassus
UCSF’s Pediatric Dentistry Clinic provides gentle, expert care for infants, children, and adolescents, including both preventive visits and specialized treatment for complex dental conditions. Our team of UCSF School of Dentistry faculty and residents is dedicated to helping every child build healthy habits and feel comfortable in the dental chair.
We recommend scheduling your child’s first dental visit by their first birthday. A parent, legal guardian, or custodial caregiver must accompany the child at this initial appointment. During the visit, we’ll help your child get familiar with the clinic, clean and polish their teeth, and perform a full oral exam, which may include X-rays.
Our Parnassus clinic offers conscious sedation for situations that require it.
Services we offer
Pediatric dentistry focuses on the unique dental needs of infants, children, and adolescents as their teeth and oral habits are developing.

Our comprehensive services include oral exams and cleanings, preventive treatments such as sealants, fluoride varnish and oral hygiene instruction, advanced restorative care ranging from fillings to crowns, and oral rehabilitation, including teeth restoration performed under general anesthesia.

Pediatric conscious sedation
Conscious sedation in pediatric dentistry uses medication to help children manage anxiety and fear during dental procedures while keeping them awake and responsive. It allows for a more comfortable experience for children undergoing treatment.
