Program overview

The AEGD residency is a full-time, 12-month program beginning July 1 each year, with the option of a second year for advanced training or research. Residents are assigned to one health center site for the year, providing continuity of patient care, with occasional rotations to affiliated sites.

The curriculum emphasizes clinical training (75–80% of time) complemented by formal didactic instruction (20–25%). Residents benefit from direct mentorship, diverse patient care experiences, and exposure to advanced technologies.

The program is fully accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
